What goes into your body will contribute to disease or to health. Too much fat & sugar may slow you down. Healthy foods will increase your energy. Similarly, what goes into the mind may contribute to a diseased soul or healthy soul.
Consuming information will make you knowledgeable. But depending on the kind of information your mind consumes, you may be intellectually obese, yet spiritually anorexic. On the other hand, you may lack intellectual knowledge, yet be a spiritual giant.
Balance is what makes a person whole. Make sure you're not too intellectual while neglecting your soul, or too spiritual, with very little knowledge. All of that to say, watch your appetite. Watch your children's appetite. I challenge you to spend less time on someone else's timeline on social media and feed both the mind and the soul.
Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us enough to leave us Your Word that can open the eyes of our hearts, while enlightening our understanding . Thank you for loving us enough that you sent your Word in the flesh to show us the way, the truth, and the life meant for us here on earth.
Forgive us for unbelief and doubting Your love. Give us a desire to read your word and seek revelation from You through prayer. Free us from damaging habits and thinking passed onto us by this world and by former generations. Protect our hearts and minds from lies designed to rob us and confuse our self-worth and identity. Remove pride and arrogance that causes us to trust our own understanding. Give us new appetites for learning what you want us to know about ourselves, each other, and the world in which we live. We honor Your faithful promises. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
That was short, sweet and powerful!! Glad I was able to catch it when you posted
