Other than not having a predictable income, I had never experienced more abundant living before my season of risk-taking by faith, creativity and self-discovery. Time has proven, there is life in the midst of, and after turmoil. Empowered to think from an abundance mindset, rather than a fear-based, lack mentality, frees us from undue stress. Our present world culture, won't and can't help us live authentically, free of approval-seeking pressure from popular opinion, family, school, relationships, career, and social media.
Time is a priceless gift that, I admit, I use to trade like cheap commodity, for pay. The pandemic of 2020 made me appreciate being alive, but the mandate of 2021 made me appreciate living freely, able to finally live with purpose, using God-given talents to effect positive change in family, community, and the world.
Our workplaces invest in our Professional Development to serve a job. But it is up to us to develop personally, using our God-given talents, and skills to serve humanity. Those with little understanding of their life's purpose often feel a sense of emptiness. Hindsight often reveals that just an extra ounce of courage to risk failure, ridicule, and judgement, would have made a difference in breaking limiting strongholds that keep us from living life, fully.
Lemon Lessons will help you to think in ways that will keep you from being trapped in frustration, confusion, and learned helplessness. I'm a big proponent of self-help books. Reason is simply because we want to be our best. But in 2013, I stopped buying and reading them because, I happened to read a chapter in the one book I had learned to distrust, avoid, and never cared to read because of my ignorance, my lifestyle, and the numerous times I was told I was going to hell by someone holding one. Of all books I ever read, this is the only one that contains all the insight, wisdom, revelation, and truth I needed to take back control of my life.
One particular chapter astounded me, as it sounded nothing like I was ever led to believe, nor were the writings like any, my teachers ever shared in all my years in Catholic School. No expert or therapist ever gave insight into my most intimate emotions as I read for the first time, ancient writings that addressed current personal, and social issues.
Curious, I kept reading till TRUTH was no longer obscured. I realized I'd been deceived and, trained to pass the deception onto others. I prayed for forgiveness of my ignorance but wanted wasted time restored. Not knowing how, I just prayed for understanding and revelation of truth in myself, my family, my world. I prayed for guidance on how to undo so much damage. Warning: when you sincerely pray for truth, God gives you what you ask for!
Seven years later, joyfully, worry-free, cancer-free, I present, Lemon Lessons🍋- Hard truths presented to those who care to know. Notice I said, "present", not "teach"! Great teachers don't give you answers. Rather, they make you think for yourself, pointing you to multiple sources for you to draw your own conclusions and make informed decisions. Our world can heal, one brave soul at a time, who are willing to admit that there may be a better way. I have never regretted the decision to give my life to Christ in 2015. And oh, what a marvelous journey it has been.!
